  • When I first met Melissa 6 years ago, I was new to recovery as an addict who was using hard drugs to numb out some serious traumas. Living in a pattern of homelessness, jail and rehab. I felt I deserved to die. Even after a really rough relapse, Melissa never abandoned me. And once identified, with absolutely no judgement, we made space to alchemize them. To behold all of your parts with someone can feel vulnerable - but the beautiful part of exploring the shadow is how much light then enters. Armed with tools to integrate these aspects of myself, I have cleared space for magic. Literally. I've never been clearer on my purpose, and as I step into that role, the opportunities that have presented themselves, the people I have met, and the energetic shift that I feel inside myself still leaves me stunned.   • When I met Melissa I was touring full time as the front woman of my band, glowing and erupting on stage. What she didn't know was, I had a dark secret, a heroin addiction that began after the death of my bass player. His suicide coupled with abandonment issues and childhood trauma created what seemed to be unstoppable soul destruction. Melissa and I became friends and she danced with me at shows. She soon saw my struggle, so I confessed. Never an ounce of negative judgement, nor shame, she came with a spirit of love, determination and a plan. This was not a blanket treatment she had used before, this was unique to me. She factored in who I was and how I moved through life. She factored in what I had been through, what I was afraid of, and who I wanted to become. With her help I was able to stay sober, and that was just the beginning. Melissa has found such a beautiful balance between a gentle kindness and a no-bullshit firmness that I aspire to.   • Wow, I just want to say what a wonderful coach Melissa is. She is gentle but objective while being very easy to talk to. I went to Melissa when I was in one of my darkest moments, and through the work we did together I found the light within the darkness.
